My Students
My students arrive to school each day eager to learn. I teach both gifted and remedial students at a visual and performing arts K-8 school located in downtown Savannah.
My students are a fabulous and diverse group of artists, musicians, and scientists.
We explore dinosaurs, pirates, Ancient Egypt and knights and castles, while learning to read and becoming accomplished mathematicians. We learn about artists, music, and coding. My 21st century students are adept with technology. This caring community of learners are ready for new technology.
My Project
I received 10 iPads through a technology grant! Unfortunately, the iPads arrived without any protective gear. Children and technology are an awesome mix. Unprotected ipads can't survive in a busy primary classroom.
I want my students to be confident and independent when using the ipads.
Our protected tech will be portable and usable by all students, fueling student engagement in my classroom this year.
Our youngest learners are expected to show reading and math proficiency on iPads. I want my pupils adept with that technology so we get an accurate measure of skills mastered not a measure of lack of computer savviness.
Our protected iPads will allow us to enhance and showcase learning with electronic projects and portfolios.
