My Students
Our sixth grade students firmly believe that if they want to learn, nothing can stop them! Students in the sixth grade are always on the prowl for exciting ways to extend their learning opportunities through online learning experiences!
Our school is a diverse learning center comprised of motivated 21st century learners!
Our students have benefited from a renovated building which still boasts original 19th century hardwood floors, high ceilings, spacious classrooms and hallways. Blending the old with the new, our building consists of a renovated learning wing and a new multipurpose room, cafeteria, and library. While many of our students stake a claim to Appalachian heritage, our diverse student population allows our students to enjoy the cultural richness found in Ohio's largest school district. Over 85% of our students are economically disadvantaged.
My Project
The iPad we are requesting for our room will be used to offer extended learning opportunities across the curriculum. Students have shown a commitment to taking advantage of online learning experiences. Our 6th grade students work very hard with existing technology to access programs like ALEKS and i-Ready. Our iPad request will allow students to be untethered from desktop and laptop computers to use a more comfortable iPad.
Each donation is an investment in the educational career of a young student who may not have access to engaging online learning experiences outside of their school experience.
As adults we can look back at our educational experiences and clearly remember which teachers and which classrooms made a positive impact on our lives.
This project will help make our classroom a memorable place for our students that will not only help them with their math skills but will also engage them as lifelong learners!
Each donation, large and small, makes an important difference in our attempt to make learning engaging and fun by offering online opportunities. Developing fluency skills can be fun when brought together with online experiences. When students look back at their math experiences, we want them to remember math as being fun and exciting, which launches them into a lifelong pursuit of learning math.
