Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Due to Covid-19, many students in the Special Education Classrooms are academically behind and many of their Gen Ed teachers don't have the correct manipulatives to help them grow. I would love to have Math and Reading learning kits that help all students in k-3 Special Education. Having resources such as a multiplication and division set will give my 3rd graders a visual of what grouping looks like. It lets them hold the amount in their hands and work out a problem with a partner. These manipulatives such as an Addition and Subtraction tool set will let students work together to add and subtract using tools to help them understand. Covid-19 has stopped them from not being able to work together and touch the same learning tools. These resources give them a chance to learn to collaborate ideas, connect socially and emotionally, and visually see their Reading and Math work.
