Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school has some very resilient and gritty (in a good way) kids. I would love to help instill a love of reading in them. One of the books I am choosing is by a local author, and the other (Wonder) was requested by a student who ordinarily doesn't participate much in class.
My students are all mild to moderate SPED level and have just a couple of years before we send them out into the world, and I hope these selections will spark some momentum and maybe even become a catalyst for the desire to continue reading and learning in their adult lives.
More than half of students from low‑income households
