My Project
I received my teaching degree during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a second-year teacher, I've been working to fill my classroom with the resources students need over the past two years. My Kindergarteners have likely missed out on activities during toddlerhood that help both social and academic development (i.e. story time, preschool, early schooling, etc.) due to the pandemic. I want to provide my students with the resources they need to have a positive and impactful Kindergarten year. The items I am hoping to get will aid students in their social-emotional development. SEL resources are critical for providing students with the coping schools they need. I also believe in having a SEL-friendly classroom, as I want our classroom to feel safe and welcoming. The majority of my "wishlist" is full of books! I strive to create a library where students have a selection of books that suit their abilities and their interests. Finally, I have asked for a few crafts and games. In addition to academics, I want students to learn about collaborating with one another and exploring their creativity. I'm so grateful to call myself a teacher, and I hope to support many students throughout my career.
