This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a public school in a city school district with diverse, multiple language learners. Many scholars are warm, loving, and continually searching for ways to grow and become better each day. I am honored to teach such wonderful children. My scholars are eager to learn, excel, and connect the curriculum in the school library media center. As the school librarian, I am able to reach every student in the school. I have been teaching for 21 years, and I take a great deal of pride in my work. I strive to make learning fun and engaging as I have been focusing on transdisciplinary learning to help scholars have authentic and powerful learning experiences.
I enjoy providing scholars a multitude of experiences to connect the curriculum and enhance their learning while promoting equitable access and allowing them to be creative and stimulate their curiosity.
The requested vinyl and Cricut will promote innovation, creation and making. We will use the sheets to create and personalize items in the school library. These are all basic supplies for fab lab production and making in the school library.
The school library is a collaborative hub where many students come together that would not normally interact in the course of their day. Through making, tinkering and discovering, they can use their hands. Students creating is the highest form of critical thinking there is. Thank you for your time, consideration and support of public-school children.
