Project Cafe

Help me give my students an opportunity to practice public speaking through cafe'. Our students struggle with written and verbal expression. Through our school program A.C.E. (Audacious Creative Entrepreneurs) Club students have an opportunity to explore and create.

My Project

I love my students' pure heart and desire to be better. Many of my students have stories that would make grown adults cry and break. They are daring to show up for themselves and their future despite great odds. Most of my students read and write on a 1st-3rd level and because of this shy away from engaging in class discussion and speaking in public settings. In addition to creating a space for students to explore different career options and learn key entrepreneurial skills, students will also create and run a cafe. This cafe' will be an opportunity for students to gain real life work experience while also allowing them to practice and develop their public speaking, speech and interpersonal skills as they have to interact with faculty and students in a professional manner to run a successful cafe. These items would allow for students to have the supplies necessary to run the cafe' properly.
