My Project

In STEAM lab this year, we want to give students more opportunities to engage in project based learning. Limited materials have prevented such a large scale initiative. Over 300 students come through the STEAM lab each year! This project will fund two amazing project based learning challenges: 1) With your group construct a skyscraper that can withstand high winds. Then plan a major city-center with your class by arranging your skyscrapers within a city grid. 2) As land has been cleared for new housing in the national housing shortage, animals have been displaced and need shelter from the hot Georgia sun. Make an animal out of sun beads and pipecleaners, then design a sun-shelter out of popsicle sticks. Test your design outside. Observe whether or not the sun beads are activated. Help me include these real-world challenges in our STEAM lab!
