My students need big, bright and beautiful visual art reproductions to ponder and discuss during our art appreciation activities in art class!

My Students
"What do you see?", "How does it make you feel?", "What do you wonder about it?" and "What is the meaning?" are just some of the questions I ask my art students using art reproductions. Help us as we learn to really SEE and THINK about art by building our collection of beautiful posters!
At our school, we are a creative and caring bunch!
In art class, we work as a community of learners and encourage each other to grow as artists! We love to try new things and are always open for a lively discussion about art. Even though we are a Title 1 public school, we are high achievers and love to dream of our future art careers! Even our artist parents are involved in the art program and they visit our class to share about their own artwork!
My Project
Imagine walking into our art classroom and seeing the bare walls transformed into a miniature art museum. The sets of art reproductions I have requested will make this possible! Students will be greeted by art as they enter the classroom door and will feast their eyes on the wide variety of art images around the room.
As I teach, I will make reference to the many posters, teaching art vocabulary, art history, aesthetics, and art criticism. Students will love looking at examples of portraits, abstraction, folk art, recycled art, cityscape, landscape, 3D art, ceramics, and more!
We will even include the reproductions on bulletin board displays around our school to explain what we have been learning about in art!
The posters will also help students to build their visual thinking skills. Our world has become a highly visual place and students are bombarded with imagery everyday. Learning to look, understand and evaluate visual images is an essential skill for all learners!
Art is so much more than just art making!
Providing students with a variety of art visuals and reproductions allows them to understand the context of their own art making on a deeper level. They will realize that artists are using all sorts of ideas, styles and images in their work!
Looking at art can ignite a spark of inspiration that will resonate with students for years to come! Visual thinking is an essential skill to build in our students!
