Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My RSP Class are mostly diagnosed with specific learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. They struggle with reading fluency and comprehension as well as with writing. My students' basic reading and writing skills were way behind. I am requesting two Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards to help purchase grade-level reading resources for my students.
Our reading program does not have engaging decodable stories or passages that follow the phonics continuum and/or do not focus on the specific spelling patterns that students need.
Students need stories that include specific spelling patterns and we teachers have to look for supplemental material. The resources available on Teachers Pay Teachers are subject-based, grade-level appropriate, current, and relevant. A gift card from Teachers Pay Teachers will greatly help with effective planning and will be highly beneficial for my students as it will give me access to focus on their reading needs.
My students' enthusiasm to learn is just waiting to be developed so that they will be on their way to progress and independence.
