Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"I certainly do care about measuring educational results. But what is an 'educational result?' The twinkling eyes of my students, together with their heartfelt and beautifully expressed mathematical arguments are all the results I need," Keith Devlin.
My classroom is located in the state of Washington at a Title I school.
Our school is Dual Language English and Spanish. Students at my school are hardworking, kind, eager individuals. Many students are first- and second-generation citizens from Africa, South America, and Asia. Our differing cultures, backgrounds, economic statuses, and languages provide richness in the classroom. However, we still face challenges. One challenge is that we are incredibly underfunded. There are so many learning experiences that I wish we could have with our students if we only had the means.
My Project
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) have numerous benefits, most notably improving education for all students. Implementation of an effective MTSS program eliminates the “wait to fail” situation that prevents at-risk students from receiving intervention sooner versus later. We need professional texts that can help us evaluate, reform, and improve our schoolwide academic MTSS.
Help us revamp our academic MTSS!
These books would help us to better support our students by getting them the interventions they need to succeed. These books will help our educators better understand who should be on the team, how to run the team, how to pick interventions, what assessments to give students, and how to look at data. Our students will greatly benefit from us being more educated by these books.
The books I'm asking for are Practical Handbook of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support: Building Academic and Behavioral Success in Schools, The MTSS Start-Up Guide: Ensuring Equity, Access, and Inclusivity for ALL Students, Leading Equity-Based MTSS for All Students. Thank you in advance for your support!
