This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Rita Pierson said "Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be."

I teach third grade Social Studies and Science in a high poverty district.

I try hard to focus on STEM education to prepare my students to be global leaders. I have been teaching for two years. I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. I am excited about learning and staying abreast of current trends in education.

My Project

I will complete professional development on-line using iTunes University. The course- "Documenting and Reflecting with iMovie" will allow me to "Discover how to use the powerful features of iMovie to enhance personal learning by fostering digital storytelling, creative collaboration, and reflective sharing." Using iMovies in my classroom, students will be excited about learning. I will be able to display student work in a new and innovative way.

The opportunity for professional development using iTunes U will make me a better prepared teacher who is able to make a difference in the lives of children.

My students will be excited about learning and watching themselves on the "Big Screen." Students who are engaged are more likely to have good attendance and graduate high school. I believe iMovies will make a difference in my classroom.
