This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is full of energy and happiness. My students love to learn and are even more engaged when it involves technology.

I have been teaching for 24 years, in a high poverty school.

I have taught grades 1-5. Currently I am teaching 3rd grade to a group of 24 eager learners. I am also returning to school to attain my National Board Teaching Credential. I have always been a life long learner and apply what I have learned to my students.

My Project

I am requesting a pc/tablet hybrid to help with my professional development as well as keep me current with new occurring technology. As part of the national board credential I need to video record myself and use it as reflection. This reflection will help me become a more enlightened teacher. I will also be able to use the tablet to search the web for lessons that will benefit my students. The tablet will allow me to view expert teachers modeling lessons, as well as participate in various professional development webinars. I will then be able to take my learning back to the classroom to ensure I am giving my students the best possible education.

If I receive the tablet it will ensure that I can continue to receive the professional development that is needed to enhance my students abilities to become college and career ready.

It will help me design lessons across the curriculum as well as help me reach my goal to be a national board certified teacher.
