This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Once you realize you have the ability to solve a problem, to create a solution and to contribute positively to the environment around you, it can alter your perception on life forever.

This is the experience I am looking to give my students; the realization that, though they are young, they still have the ability to change their surroundings and situations for good.

Though my students attend a low-income school and are on free lunch, they still hold onto a dream of attending college and being world changers. I have written grants to take them to UCLA and other universities to further instill those goals. Nevertheless, I don't want to feel that they have to wait until adulthood to become a positive force for good. I want them to experience that they have the ability to solve real-world problems that affect their everyday lives today.

My Project

My students need three iPads and three covers to investigate, create media and develop solutions to solve real world problems. My students will doing the four C's (collaborating, critical thinking, creative thinking, and communicating) over real world situations that they would like to see solved. On the iPads they will be gathering data to support their claim, creating presentations in various apps, developing campaigns, music videos and reaching out to various social active groups that support their cause.

Throughout this project, they will develop their voice and realize that they too can empower people for change, even in their youth.
