This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students struggle to connect mathematical concepts to real life scenarios. These resources help students apply mathematical thinking to real life problem solving.

My sixth grade students are bright, eager to learn, and motivated to succeed.

Problem solving skills will prepare them to be life long learners. Your contribution to my class will impact student who are living at or near poverty level and aide their success in mathematics.

My Project

My students are creative, and critical thinkers whose desire to learn is tireless despite the many obstacles that they face. Your dedication to their education through mathematics not only with impact their lives currently, but provide them skills they may apply to their future endeavors. The measurement readers will give my students the opportunity to apply measurement strategies to real life problem solving. By making connections to the real world, my students will become fluent in applying measurement skills throughout their lives. The math masterpiece puzzle incorporates the work of artists such as Da Vinci and Van Gogh while students develop critical math skills involving fractions and geometry. This puzzle will be used in my classroom centers which provide distributive practice for mathematical skills throughout the school year.

The students in my class are eager to learn and apply new skills in mathematics.
