Problem Solving in the Inquiry Lab

My students need the supplies to help make their inquiries a reality, including Makey Makey kits, twine, straws, craft sticks, and more!

My Students

The students at my school are eager problem solvers. They were highly engaged in the introductory robotics / problem solving lab we started. These are children that love to collaborate and use their hands and other manipulatives to find the solution to a problem. Our students thrive in a design and critical thinking environment especially as a means of applying the curriculum to real world situations.

These children are eager to explore how they can apply their problem-solving skills in a STEM environment.

My Project

Materials like straws, pipe cleaners and glue guns will help to provide an engaging way for students to interact with text. Many of the books students read are about how a character overcomes obstacles. How do the little pigs build their homes? How does Goldilocks decide which bed to sleep in? Students will be devising their own solutions.

How would you build your house so the Big Bad Wolf couldn't blow it down?

Can you create a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree that can hold the entire alphabet? What if you had to create suitable bed for Goldilocks?

This project is about students creating their own solutions and bringing them to life!
