Probes for Science Labs!

Help me give my students probes for collecting data during science experiments! This set of temperature probes will allow each lab group to have a probe for collecting data. These amazing Go Direct probes sync with their Chromebooks.

My Students

I teach 3 sections of AP Environmental Science students. What makes my AP students unique is that they are NINTH graders!! They are extremely hard-working students who are challenging themselves by taking an AP course during their first year of high school.

My students learn extremely well through hands-on, experience-based learning.

At the end of each year, I give out a survey and ask students to identify their favorite activities of the school year, and they often point to lab activities and class discussions.

My student engagement is through the roof with my AP students. They are in my class to LEARN and show their potential.

My Project

During the many school close downs and times of virtual learning, students lost time to complete lab experiments and practice collecting data. Getting these probes will allow students to collect highly accurate data and allow them to learn in a hands-on approach how scientists collect and analyze data. In Utah, we are focused on the sEED science standards, which include the science and engineering practices. One of those practices is "planning and carrying out investigations" and another is "analyzing and interpreting data". Utilizing these probes will aid my students in acquiring these skills!
