My Students

Our school is in great need of quality supplies. Our school is a Title I school with 100% free and reduced lunch. Some of our families are very supportive but we also have students who are taking on the role of mom or dad because they come home to an empty home. Our school is in the turnaround process and due to the Covid-19 we are still struggling to get kids caught up. I want this next year to be the best yet and have a classroom that is comfortable and inviting, especially since they've had two extremely hard years. My classroom becomes a safe place for my students. They know I will hold them accountable but they also know I care. I want to provide them with as many resources as I can. I want to be the teacher they remember when their my age.

My Project

My students have struggled for three years because of the pandemic. Covid-19 is still taking its toll on students and teachers. I fear most students are suffering from anxiety and depression. I have an amazing group of 6th graders who come to school with a variety of different experiences, needs and struggles. It's part of my job to provide them an environment that is both safe and comfortable. These items will allow students to have snacks, water and a clean classroom.

Students who don't have their basic needs met are unable to give 100%.

This project will allow me to keep snack time consistant and will provide them with easy access to clean drinking water. We are in a school with only one water fountian/dispenser and its a journey to get to it, never mind the cost to provide disposable cups. This project will allow me to provide them water and dishwasher safe water bottles.

Covid has given kids this uncertanty in the classroom. Some who wear masks have been wearing them for weeks. Having a clssroom supply will help me keep them safe and clean. No child should have to worry about weather or not its safe to come to school. This project will help me reassure parents that my room is safe and that their childs needs are taken care of. Everyone should feel safe and happy at school, so help me ensure that happens!
