My Students

I am a therapeutic support counselor to 18 amazing students in a substantially separate emotionally impaired program.

The students in this program have emotional disabilities, impairments, and trauma that make it difficult for them to self regulate.

With the support from staff, teachers and counselors, we ensure that that have the right tools to help them stay regulated and ready to learn!

My Project

The school uses Postive Behaviorial Inteventions and Supports (PBIS) to promote school safety and good behavior rather than using a punishment approach. PBIS teaches students about behavior expectations and stratagies during the school day.

By using positive behavioral stratagies with our students, we can use prizes as a postive reinforcement to help our students meet behavioral expectations.

By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase these students enagagement and behavior, but you will also give them the opportunity to stay regulated and help their academic achievement.
