My Project
My students are all recent immigrants to the United States. As teens, this is a difficult challenge, but they meet it head on every day. Additionally, they choose a more difficult school - a vocational school - because it will lead to meaningful careers that let them help their families.
Items like stickers and stamps show them they are succeeding even when they can't understand me.
Special classroom items, like fountain pens and comfortable chairs, give them a reason to come to class everyday. The fan lets them stay comfortable in what is otherwise a very hot room.
