My Students
First graders are eager to learn and are full of energy. I have a diverse group of children from many ethnic backgrounds, including Hispanic, African American, and Asian. They come from both single and dual-income families. They have many strengths and areas of growth, both academic and social.
We need to foster children's love of learning!
Children are literally our future!
My Project
Children love to get prizes. In my first grade classroom, I reward students with classroom pennies. They use their pennies to purchase items in our treasure box. Our second grade teachers appreciate this format because my students know how to count pennies, nickels, and quarters when they promote to them even though it isn't a first grade standard.
Prizes motivate them to follow the rules, be kind, participate in class, and more!
Students love stress balls, snacks, chalk, cars, Play Doh, etc. This project will bring my students lots of choices following a crazy (mostly remote) school year. Help me make the year special!
