My Students
My students come from a community filled with adversity and during a time where everything continues to be a struggle they still all look for hope, love, and guidance from me. They are the true definition of perseverance. I would do anything and everything for them.
My Project
During this unpredictable time of Remote Learning there has been a heavy emphasis on digital tools and resources. Most students and school districts have given students access to the most up to date technology. This wasn't the case for my students. Thankfully most of my students gained access to Laptops that WE gave them from our own school. We have amazing teachers that are utilizing every tool, website and app that will engage and spark learning from these beautiful and intelligent middle school students.
Unfortunately they are forced to "show their work" using a trackpad on a computer.
Can you imagine the frustration of not only trying to take notes with a trackpad, but also showing algebraic expressions, annotating text features, and just letting their amazing creative minds go to work.
I have invested in this exact Writing Tablet, and it has been life changing, not only for my own ease, but for showing my students how to solve problems, modeling on the spot examples, and working 1:1 with them after class.
I am requesting these Wacom writing tablets, along with the adapters, so that my students have the same privilege that all students around New York have. We always preach to our youth that they need to put pencil to paper and show their work like we all had to, but that skill is slowly being LOST because of what is happening at this time.
