Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our ELL Students are Newcomer/Refugee children from 29 different countries. The majority of our students come from war-torn countries and have had limited to no opportunities to receive formal education. Our students are so eager to have the opportunity to learn! Our students are not just learning academics, but we are learning to become successful global citizens. Our students are new to the learning process and the educational structures in our public school system. Privacy stations can help our students focus on their classwork or projects without being distracted by stimuli around the classroom area. Our classroom is usually the first educational setting our children have taken part in, which can be distracting when children are trying to focus on our TELPAS technology stations, classwork, etc.
Teaching our students how to use these privacy shields as a tool will create self-aware learners who are eager and able to focus on their oral language and written activities.
