Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My newcomer ELL students enter school throughout the year. Many are unfamiliar with the school setting and we work hard to make them feel comfortable in a new environment.

Having privacy shields and a picture dictionary will help students feel comfortable in a school setting and help alleviate nerves about using an unfamiliar language.

With these items, students can relax as they work and not worry about other students watching them. These shields will allow students to work uninterrupted and let them work at their own pace. The ability to look up unfamiliar words in a bilingual picture dictionary will not only help students as they work, it will help them gain new vocabulary to use throughout their day.
