Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come to school daily with a desire to learn. They bring with them a passion to tackle whatever the day has in store. This year, we are starting a Global Awareness Magnet, so this group consists of students from varying backgrounds and abilities. I have English Learners, students with families from other countries, and some who receive special education services. The zeal that they have for education is one that I want to cultivate and fuel.
Despite varying home life situations, my students come to school with an enthusiasm to learn.
My 30 fourth grade students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. They are a diverse group that embodies the melting pot that our community is well known for.
My Project
My classroom is set up for collaboration; however, there are times when students need their own area to focus on tasks such as independent writing, assessments, and even silent reading. Privacy folders would enable that, as well as create a safe space for students who may need it.
I want my students to have the option to have a space of their own, free from distractions to assist them in completing tasks with accuracy.
This would be a welcomed tool to help learners of all modalities.
Students will have an opportunity to concentrate on their own work. In addition, they will build skills that will come in handy during testing season.
