My Students
My students come to school with a love of learning and excited to read stories. They absolutely love to read books that they can go to another world in. They come to school each ready to read and be challenged in their reading.
Our school is a charter school in Westerville, Oh, which is a suburb in Columbus, OH.
I have 26 second grade students in my homeroom classroom. Our school is a Title I school which means the majority of my students come from a low socioeconomic background.
Like many charter schools we do not receive the same funds as a traditional public school which makes it difficult to obtain materials needed to teach my students. This impacts the supplies that we have in the classroom to help children learn the academic content. My students want to use materials that will help them understand!
My Project
Privacy is the key to success! My students are in need of good privacy folders to help them during work, test, and silent reading. It will make a difference in that they are currently using privacy folders that I made 12 years ago. They have been torn, ripped, and simply falling apart. The students need these in order to do their best work and be independent when taking a test or working on independent work.
Privacy folders allow my students to concentrate on their work with little to no distractions!
The materials will be used while students take their tests.
