Our class is comprised of eight, amazing students with autism across three grade levels who learn in many different ways. Our students come from different wards from within DC, not just from the surrounding neighborhood. Our class is a self-contained classroom, which means that the majority of each student's learning takes place within our room. Many of our students also receive some instruction in the general education setting and are able to interact and socialize with their typically developing peers throughout the day.
Autism is a developmental disability that affects the way our students interact and communicate with others.
All of our students benefit from detailed, color, and visual supports to support their learning. Our current printer is on its last leg as it has been used for almost 10 years. Please help us in funding a new printer and toner so that we can continue to make more vibrant visuals for our students.
