My students require a much more individualized and specialized way of learning. They learn through hands-on materials and visuals. They need access to materials that keep all of their materials organized. When provided with this type of learning environment, my students can learn and excel!
"It is never to late to expand the mind of a person on the autism spectrum" -Dr Temple
Autism is an extremely challenging disability that affects every aspect of my students' lives. My classroom is made up of eight young people with autism. We are located in a low-income school where I need to buy most if not all of my own supplies.
My Project
I am asking for extra ink for our printer that will help my students with successful visual learning! This basic classroom item will aide in a wide variety of ways such as making visual stories with the students, labeling classroom objects so they know what each item is, printing a picture out for rewards of their favorite character for good positive behaviors and worksheets for virtual students!
Extra ink for our printerwill allow for positive, visual learning that include using technology and aids.
Students can search the internet for any photo or graphic they may desire or like that will help them with projects and be able to print them in color so they can visually see it. This will also help with instruction for the students to be able to make color aids to be used for our instructional program and packets for virtual learners! We can also print out items to use for their behavioral programs as well. This will serve as a visual for the student knowing they can and will continue to do a great job throughout the school day!
