Printing Schedules and Pictures to Help With Behaviors and Communication
Help me give my students The Epson eco tank printer and ink to print color materials that will help them with controlling behaviors as well as allow them to communicate with pictures.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students who receive speech therapy have a difficult time communicating.
Many times, students with communication disorders struggle to convey their basic needs to those they interact with daily.
Many students in speech therapy are happy most of the time even when they can’t communicate, but when they really want to communicate and we can’t figure it out, they become frustrated. These kids have been through a lot in the last four years. There was Hurricane Harvey that destroyed many of the school buildings and other storms that further ruined the buildings as they were being repaired (still not complete). Kids were educated in whatever buildings in town were available. Bats in the bildings shut down schools to remove them and sanitize. COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in new obstructions to learning and yet, these kids are always happy to see caring teachers at school and work so hard to improve themselves.
Color pictures help many students to communicate successfully for the first time which reduces behaviors and frustration. Imagine your child being in school before you hear them say "I love you" Parents always say "I thought I would never hear my child say I Love You".
My Project
Many of our students have trouble controlling behavior. Providing a picture schedule tells them what is happening that day and in what order which allows them to be calmer and helps them transition from one activity to another activity. Other students can't speak or can't be understood when they speak. Color printed and laminated pictures assist these students with communicating either until they can talk or they can move to a high tech device.
Please help our students to participate in classroom activities successfully by controlling behaviors and communicating?
Color pictures are easier for students to identify and are more motivating. Even adults react with greater enthusiasm to color pictures than black and white most of the time. Please help us replace our printer that no longer works.
