My Students
There are over 600 sixth grade students at our school, and over 2,000 students total! Many of them come from bilingual households and receive free or reduced-price lunch.
Our school is a multicultural melting pot that is a perfect representation of our community.
Students come from many different cultural, economic and social backgrounds. Although our school is larger than most middle schools, each class becomes a close family as the year progresses.
Our classes include special education students, ELL students, and students of various academic levels, who require many resources and visual aids to help them throughout each lesson.
My Project
Social Studies requires many visuals, readings, artifacts, primary and secondary sources, etc. In order to provide these resources for our students, we need the appropriate technology. Even though many of the documents we now deal with are digital, hard copies are still vital.
Many of our students do not have technology at home, and therefore cannot access the documents we may need for class.
Having the convenience of a printer in our classroom and being able to print out valuable worksheets and resources will greatly benefit our students. They will be able to have something tangible in front of them that they can always refer to when they need to review. Students always prefer captivating worksheets as opposed to dense textbooks that may be difficult to read. With this printer, we can provide our very diverse group of students with the appropriate accommodations based on their academic needs.
