Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

For the upcoming school year, I will be teaching a special education self-contained classroom with third and fourth graders. My classroom demographic is diverse. My students are of ages 8-11. They have been diagnosed with learning disabilities (speech/language impairment, cognitive/developmental delays, etc.) sensory impairments (visual, auditory), related health alerts (ADD/ADHD) and emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD). I have a class of 12 children this year. Most of our students are of low income status. Our school is receives title one funding. A great majority of our students and educators are in need of academic/teaching resources. The students in my classroom are dually disadvantaged. These students are learning/emotionally disabled and they are also of low income status. Many of the resources (computer, printers) that are available in the homes of other students are not available in their homes. Currently we do not have a printer within our classroom. We live in a world filled with technology. My students often use my laptop to type their reviews, report, newsletters and more but are unable to print their work. My students and I will be ever grateful for you kindness if you fund this proposal. Your donation will ensure that my students will progress academically in this technology filled world. Even though they are economically disadvantaged, with this technology my students will become academically advantaged. My students need a color printer in order to complete classroom assignments. We would be very grateful for your commitment to learning. Please fund our proposal.
