My Students
"I think a hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles." - Christopher Reeves
I have moved into a new position at my school.
I will be the primary Learning Resource Center teacher. I will have approximately 20 students who require Specially Designed Instruction through the support of an Individualized Education Plan and will partner with their general education teachers and families to provide support across these settings.
As we embark on a new school year, my hope is to create an inclusive environment and build a classroom community that inspires students to strive to do their best to be successful and to become lifelong learners, even though we are engaging in remote learning.
My Project
With the use of a printer, I will be able to provide students with both black and white and colored materials for distance learning and in-person learning when we return to school.
As a special education teacher, I create a lot of materials that support students' academic, adaptive, and social-emotional learning.
I am also a part of our school-wide student support team and often create materials for students outside of my own classroom.
This printer will allow me to quickly print behavior charts, visual schedules, calm down cards, social stories, and things such as vocabulary cards for my ELL students. I will have access to these materials in the moment while working with students, without having to leave my classroom.
