This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our high school English Language Development (ELD) students are not only working hard in the classroom but also participating in our English Language Club, where they explore language and culture in creative and meaningful ways. Many of these students are newcomers to the U.S., and the club gives them a space to build friendships, practice speaking English, and connect with their new school community. We are seeking a color printer to support a new initiative where students design and create arts and crafts for campus fundraisers.

Paragraph 2: Building Skills and Access Through Fundraising

With a reliable color printer, students will create custom items like shirts, tumblers, sashes, bracelets, keychains, tote bags, and printed holiday decorations to sell at school events. These fundraisers raise money to help students cover sports participation fees—costs that many cannot afford without support. Being part of a team gives ELD students valuable opportunities to practice English in real-life settings, build friendships, and feel included. Your donation will help them access these important experiences while building confidence and practical skills.

The printer will also be used for club activities that introduce students to U.S. holidays and traditions through hands-on, creative projects. From printing decorations for Halloween and winter holidays to creating personalized gifts and learning the meanings behind them, students will connect with American culture in a memorable and engaging way. For many of our newcomers, these activities help make their new environment feel more familiar and welcoming. Your support makes it possible for students to express themselves, learn, and belong.
