My Students
My 25 kindergarten students are inner city students who attend a public school in Philadelphia, PA where funding has been cut significantly. Their parents chose a public school because they do not have many options due to finances, which in turn does not provide the schools with a ton of support.
My students love to learn through play and blended, cooperative learning.
They love to learn through hands-on activities and be very active. I always try to create my lessons to meet their needs. My school can't always provide the materials needed for these engaging lessons.
My students are 5-6 years old and are full of enthusiasm for school.
My Project
We are asking for a small color printer. Our current one is broken. This new printer is so that my students can get the best education they need. This way I can make the necessary copies needed for the children to be able to get the concept(s) we are learning about. This printer will benefit my students for a lifetime of learning. There is only so much these children can live without.
This color printer will make it possible for my students to have the classroom work and homework that is needed in kindergarten.
Fun arts and crafts can be created. Just imagine if you grew up without a printer/copier? We would not have any fun art projects, no way to reinforce what you just have learned, and the students would have to copy down everything they'd need to do for homework. It is very hard for these youngsters.
A printer will ensure that they can have copies on demand! Students will also be able to print our their writing work that they have worked so hard on. I want to thank you for taking time to read about our classroom and our project.
