My Project
Our school is nestled in the Arkansas River Valley, where poverty is still one of the greatest challenges many of our students struggle to overcome. Many of our families benefit from federally funded programs such as HUD, SNAP, and the free and reduced lunch program. Extras are something a big portion of our students just can't afford.
This Bambu Lab 3d printer and filament will allow students participating in our Esports program to step into the role of designer, engineer, and creator as they create characters, fund raising items, and rewards during the afterschool program.
It will allow me, as their teacher and coach, to spark a desire to learn about how art, engineering, science, and technology combine to create some of their favorite characters and swag items. It will give the students a reason to participate and soak up skills such as collaboration, team work, and communication all under the disguise of fun.
