This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students will start to learn compassion in a new way. The students will be working with one another to role play and identify situations when students can be compassionate towards others. Identifying when to make better choices is key to a successful education.
We will be using new programs and materials that need to be printed.
We will be role playing and identifying situations. Hopefully lunchtime and recess will be successful.
Students will offer each other ideas on situations that require compassion. The students will reflect on making better choices and using words in a kind way. Actions are the key to compassion. I will measure the success by using a classroom chart. The students will use post - it notes to chart when others were compassionate. This will give them a sense of ownership by being compassion towards others. We will come up with ideas on what compassion is and how that is actionable.
The students can share out with the other classes on the grade. They can turn key the success of this compassion project and encourage the other classes to join us in this movement.
This important reflective process will help students see the world through other people and identify that actions can have a positive effect on someone.
I am excited to have a printer so the students have access to the materials in class and have a way to monitor progress.
