This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I am teaching 32 eager students who have a passion for learning. I am always surprised to see how much knowledge the students bring to each subject. This year, I will focus more on reciprocal learning strategies which will help the students gain more control over their learning. By developing groups and questioning techniques for the students to follow, they will be able to lead their own discussions and make their own discoveries in every subject. I am always confident in my students' abilities to take their learning to a higher level of independence.
Every fifth grader brings with them a special quality to enhance the class as well as themselves.
My students are visual learners, which means they are able to excel in their academics when they are provided with elements to support their learning. Each child has a special gift that they are able to bring into our classroom. Whether its through discussion, activity or peer interaction, each child displays a love of learning.
My Project
These materials are priceless to our classroom. Our students are visual learners and appreciate being able to use technology to enhance their projects. In addition to their academics, students will be asked to create powerpoint presentations in order for others to have a better understanding of what is being conveyed. This semester, students are being asked to select a Wonder of the World and discuss its relevance. In their projects, students will display illustrations, charts, important information and details to describe their chosen Wonder of the World. Students will be asked to print out their work and handed it in for their final grade. The ability to use technology in their projects is an invaluable tool that will enhance their learning experience throughout their lives.
