This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am so excited to create a classroom where my students feel happy, comfortable, and inspired to learn! In the past, my students have gotten creative in finding spots to work, at tables, on the floor with clipboards, or even under tables, because they need a space that works for them. Their favorite spot of all is almost always in the classroom library on a cozy rug. Having a comfortable place to gather makes a huge difference in how focused, motivated, and joyful they are while learning.

This year, I’m starting fresh in a new school, and I lost a lot of important materials in the move.

That’s why I’m hoping to give my students a bright, comfy classroom rug where we can gather for whole group lessons, independent reading, and lively discussions. I’m also in need of printer ink, both black and color, so I can print engaging resources, center activities, and vibrant visuals that make learning come alive for my students.

These additions will help my classroom feel warm, welcoming, and well-supplied, giving my students both a cozy place to learn and the colorful materials they need to succeed. I can’t wait to see them thrive with this new setup!
