Printing and Scanning to Improve Distance Learning

My Students

My students are devoted learners who love learning online. My students are special because they are so motivated to learn...even while distance learning at home. They are excited to participate in online discussions and love to learn in my student-centered digital classroom.

My Project

I have been teaching my second grade students online and have found that most of my teaching materials are hard copies that are difficult to share online. We are in need of a printer/scanner so that I can scan in important documents, graphic organizers, and materials for my students to access while they are at home. For our recent parent teacher conferences, I received a paper copy to help teach families how to use Zoom. I had to take a photo of this with my phone in order to send it to my student's families. It would have been much easier and cleaner to use a scanner to create a copy to send.

I have also found that I write better on a hard copy than I do on my iPad or computer.

When I am meeting with my students to do in person learning, I would love to be able to print a copy of the materials that we are using and write on it under a document camera that is projecting to my virtual class. Using this printer to first print these materials would be very helpful for this task.
