Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students enjoy school immensely. Sometimes they get so excited about learning it seems they will just burst. It is infectious.
My students are from a high-poverty region and are predominantly bilingual or English Language Learners.
The students and their families are motivated learners. Some of our parents even come to school to learn along with their children. They are all excited to discover and explore. My amazing kids are deserving of so much more than their economic status currently allows, and I want to do everything I can to help them reach a brighter future.
My Project
My students have created some amazing pieces of art using digital images as a starting point and in combination with other media. They have created impressive collages using digital cameras, black and white photos, string art from words and logos, and other mixed media projects.
Unfortunately, our convenient on-the-spot printing will soon come to an end without some replacement toner cartridges.
And, we need these new, heavy-duty pencil sharpeners to keep up with the demand of using precise instruments, whether they be drawing pencils, colored pencils, or watercolor pencils.
