This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I recently changed schools within the NYC public school system. I was shocked at how student learning experiences are heavily dependent on the funding of their schools and/or districts. I have been fortunate to work in a school that is given tremendous funding and see everything they can provide students with. My goal is to bring those same experiences to my new school community and help my students become more engaged with the materials they use for learning. Color copies may not seem “essential” but students love to see their world in color. The printers will allow teachers to have access to printing activities for our students in the classroom. Having printers in the classrooms allows teachers to have more flexibility for on demand student tasks. Sparking that interest and motivating my students to learn through new experiences is rewarding.
