Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
There was no way of knowing that when my students and I said goodbye in March it would mean that it was our last day in the classroom. However, the year is not over yet!
We are actively engaging in various different online platforms and learning new concepts.
My students and I participate three times a week in social emotional activities, we have meetings with parents to go over new material, and check in with each other daily. In addition, I am beginning to record lessons at home for them to view and continue to learn new material. I am amazed by their level of engagement and participation, and families' willingness to try new things.
My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.
Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online. Many have depended on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are engaged in their learning!
My Project
Many of my students are home and unable to use the school materials in the same way they did in the classroom. These printers will allow them to access material online and print it in their home so they have tangible tools to utilize while working from home.
While packets have been sent home to students, many of the materials they may need or like to access, require printing the material off of our schools Remote Learning website.
These printers will allow them to do so in the comfort of their home!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
