Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help build our Eagle Legacy Yearbook Program. My students are trying to create fundraisers to continue to build our yearbook program at Lassiter Early College High School. Through the photobooth fundraisers at our various school events, I am helping my Yearbook staff learn about careers in photojournalism and the media. Helping my students will alleviate the costly pressure on our school.
These two photo printers, various backdrops, and photo props would help elevate my student's interest in the program through the fundraisers they create with these much-needed printers and supplies.
My students are a fantastic group of young scholars. The early college program specifically targets traditionally underserved students in colleges and universities. My students are the first in their family to go to college. They are from low socioeconomic backgrounds and are at risk of not completing high school. At such a young age, my students are learning the discipline and academic behaviors necessary for higher education success. They are dedicated and hardworking!
