Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please help provide a colored printer for my 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade low-incidence Cluster Classroom.

Currently, printed books from RAZ Kids, short passage, activities for all content areas, visuals and schedules are in black and white.

Colored materials would help my students better relate and connect what we are learning about. For example, when learning about fractions in Math, the visuals would stand out more. When reading about text for Science and Social Studies, having books would better allow students to know what images are of. For example, when learning about ecosystems and animals, they would better distinguish the different ecosystems. For Social Studies during the end of the year students learn about the 7 contented and different countries. The short passages and visual choices are currently black and white. Currently, I have to show students colored images on the Promethean board or have students who can look it up on Chromebooks with support.

My classroom has a visual schedule, visual classroom rules, visual vocab and social stories are currently in black and white. Color would have students better see and connect to all of these visuals.

Please help provide a colored printer for my classroom, so I can help give my students the much needed colored visuals and activities they need.
