This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a first grade teacher, working in an urban high-poverty area of New York. My students have diverse backgrounds and diverse educational needs. But what they all have in common is the beautiful excitement and love they have for learning. Even though many of them come from some tough backgrounds, they still continue to work hard and do all that they can to learn. I truly love what I do and I'm grateful to have such a great community of learners in my class!
Every morning I am greeted with 24 huge smiles and I want my students to know that they are important and I will do anything I can to help them reach their fullest potential because they deserve the best.
My Project
Our classroom needs a printer and ink in order to give the students immediate access to the materials they need to support their learning! My students are currently on different levels and it would be extremely helpful to have a classroom printer to be able to print papers as I need them for the children.
This project will help my students have the tools they need to be successful.
Unfortunately, it can sometimes take weeks to get copies made and my students do not deserve to wait that long to continue their learning. I would love to be able to quickly adapt an idea and print it right out to meet each student's individual needs.
