This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are active, curious, playful and imaginative. They are part of a special day program that emphasizes learning through concrete experiences and play. Most are eager to come to school to learn and play with friends; and a couple are currently content to explore the classroom environment and to make new discoveries alone or with the teachers. All of my students thrive on hands-on, interactive experiences.
My Project
Help me give my students the color-printed and laminated visual supports they need to thrive. The printer, additional ink, laminator and pouches will ensure that I have the necessary supplies to continue providing my preschoolers with laminated Visual Schedules, First-Then Boards and personalized Token Boards.
Predictable routines and procedures help my preschoolers develop their independence and strengthen their confidence.
Visual supports help break down tasks, help ease transitions and help serve as concrete reminders of our routines and procedures.
In addition to our class visual schedule, some of my students need a travel schedule to use throughout our school day. My preschoolers are busy and energetic; and these travel schedules can become tattered and torn quickly. The First-Then Boards and Token Boards are used to motivate my students to complete non-preferred activities or to use non-preferred materials.
Individual schedules, First-Then Boards and Token Boards are used inside and outside the classroom to help guide and support my preschoolers' learning.
