Help me give my students the differentiated curriculum they need to improve their math, reading, handwriting, communication, fine gross motor skills, ADL and problem solving & creativity skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is made up of eight students with Autism who are faced with significant communication and behavioral challenges, and function at various intellectual levels. Their ages range from 5 to 8 years old. Most of the students require specialized attention and intensive support as they have individualized curriculum. All students require curriculum to be adapted and differentiated, which is why I am seeking to have a classroom printer. It is very challenging to modify and differentiate my lessons in order to reach all learners when there is no working printer. It is necessary to have a classroom printer to ensure all my lessons will meet every learner.
My Project
My students work extremely hard throughout the day as they are faced with many obstacles. My goal is to differentiate my instruction in order to reach all learners to help give them the skills they need. It is necessary to have a classroom printer to ensure all lessons will meet every learner to help each student grow.
Differentiating and adapting the curriculum will give my students greater opportunities to improve their academic, communication, motor and cognitive skills.
Providing students with engaging, hands-on activities and lessons is a great way to motivate students and to capture their attention. They learn best when activities and lessons are adapted and modified to meet each individual needs.
Many of my students are visual and tactile learners. For each lesson, it is crucial to provide and adapt all worksheets to help our students achieve their goals. These materials are important to have in the classroom to help promote learning. There are endless possibilities to what these tools can offer a classroom of students with disabilities.
