Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our schools have closed but I continue to strive to reach my students at home in various ways. My students are learning through weekly Zoom meetings and personalized YouTube mini-lessons. My students are also using online resources I share weekly such as; ST Math, Lexia, and Benchmark. My classroom is made up of 8 bright Autistic students who love to create and explore new things. They thrive on personal interactions and on-hands activity. Through the use of technology, we continue to see each other and support one another during these difficult times. I look forward to the day I am able to be with my students again.

My Project

My students thrive with hands-on activities. Whether its cut and paste, handwriting practice, or education worksheets, they excel when they have the materials in their reach. My students especially like to complete special projects and these projects generally require pages that are printed with colored ink. In order to send out projects and individualized work for my students; print weekly materials; and make interactive activities tailored to their IEP goals, I need access to a color printer at home.

At this time, I am unable to print at school for our safety and I have been using my small, personal 8-10 sheet printer that runs out of ink quickly.

I plan to use this printer to print different visuals aids (arrow pointing) that will allow my non-verbal students to communicate. This printer will also allow me to print any documents quickly and effectively.

This printer would be a wonderful tool in our online classroom!

Thank you.
