My students need a printer that is reliable to print out their creative writing assignments and research projects throughout the year. Having a new printer will also allow students to read their printed stories at home.

My Students
"Education is the most important weapon we can use to change the world".-Nelson Mandela. My students are a sweet group of Firsties who come from many different countries around the world, including Africa, Palestine, Iraq, Brazil, China, Japan and the Dominican Republic. They are an excited and eager bunch! A portion of my students qualify for refugee status and coming to America has been exciting and over whelming as they adapt and learn the language and customs. Many are first generation English speakers.
My Project
My First Grade classroom is filled with PRINT: environmental print, word walls, and student projects. These examples of student work make our classroom feel like home. I am honored to teach a wonderful group of eager students. My class of Firsties is an ESL class, which means that for many of them English is not their first language and the language is acquired by speaking, reading and writing. A printer in the classroom will allow my students to create stories AND print out their creations instead of leaving them on the computer. Imagine taking a PRINTED story home to read!
