I currently teach eager first-grade students, in a low socioeconomic district in Miami Gardens. Many of my students recently immigrated to the United States and do not speak the language. I also have students who have various learning disabilities. They have a love for learning and technology. I want my students to have the best opportunity to thrive in this 21st century. My students love reading, writing, social studies, science, math, and all artistic subjects.
My students are limited on the access they have to updated resources.
Students should be able to thrive in a learning environment that is safe, limitless, and creative. This will allow them to thrive as adults in a technology-driven world.
My Project
My students are in the final stages of their first project of the year. Each student had to create a collage booklet, "All About Me Book". Some students do not have access to a printer at home. They have to create a five page book all about themselves. They will be able to forward me the book and allow me to print for them for their presentation. My students are eager to see their books in print and in color.
When projects are in color, they attract more attention and that will give my students an extra boost of confidence when they are presenting their books to the class virtually.
